Each year, new designs are commissioned to celebrate the Hari Raya festivities in Brunei. Our experience designing in S.E. Asia has aptly prepared us to incorporate Brunei's distinct cultural style. In this case, blending the mystery of the East with the sophistication of the West. With just the right touch of that which shimmers.
The client requested the designs be in keeping with the local flavours, leaning towards a clean and elegant output.
The inspiration for this design was the majestic mosque at Jerodong Park. Built by the client as a gift to the people, it's one of the most beautiful mosques in Brunei Darassalam. The gold pattern framing the card was created by incorporating the design from the south-west wall, as seen in the photo to the right. By using a photo montage, the delicate colours were emphasized to show off the beauty of the mosques' architecture. To polish up the creation, hotstamped gold foil was added, setting off the gold on the tinted windows, as well as the gold leaf on the top of the stunning green domes.
Client's comments: The work of Katz-i International Web & Graphic Design came to our attention during the State Visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Brunei Darussalam.
